The consultation
A talk before any facial
Thirty minutes at the small table, then a look under the lamp. It comes before a first facial with extractions and before dermaplaning. No facial is done in it.
What you use now
Your routine, in photos or in the jars, and the order you use it in.
How your skin behaves
Where and when it gets dry, shiny or sore, and what it did after the last facial you had.
What you'd like from a visit
A quiet hour, a certain step left out, or a plan for the season.
What Sangwoo notes
He writes down what he sees and what you decide, and you can ask for a copy.
When to ask a doctor
When Sangwoo suggests a dermatologist or your doctor
A facial can't do everything, and he would rather say so than keep booking you. He will suggest a dermatologist, or your doctor, when:
A spot or mole that is changing
Anything that grows, bleeds or changes color goes to a doctor, not a facial.
Skin that is hot, swollen or oozing
Sangwoo will ask you to see a doctor before you book again.
A mark that lingers, or a scar forming
He will note it and suggest someone who can look at it properly.
Breakouts that are deep or painful
These sit deeper than a facial reaches, so a facial isn't the right next step.
A rash that started suddenly
Especially alongside other changes in how you feel, or after a new medicine.
Skin that looks the same after months of visits
If a facial changes nothing he can see, he says so and suggests who to ask next.
